Coaching Methodology
How I work
I provide coaching services to people who encounter problems within their working relationships which they are unable to resolve using their existing business skills.
Unlike training or mentoring I provide no advice, instead, using the coaching tools I have trained in, I help the people find the solution within themselves.
Together, we explore existing external and internal resources enabling the them to build new solutions for themselves. This way they have robust, reusable resources they feel comfortable deploying in the future.
It also provides them with a framework that they can use to solve other problems they encounter.
In practice this means I work with the people to explore their problem from a number of angles, providing a safe space to explore desired outcomes.
Once they have identified a solution that they are happy with and is achievable, the next step is to develop an action plan to get there. In this way all accountability is with them - they have devised the solution and created an action plan to put in place.
At the beginning of the coaching cycle, people can usually be Problem or Remedy focused. As we explore and develop their resources this naturally moves to a Desired Outcome focus, enabling them to achieve what they want rather than merely fixing problems.
